SO what are we doing out there?

With much pride, a bit of endeavour, lots of effort and some financial support, Sustainability Options are proud to be supporters of the Tauranga Curtain Bank - a charitable organisation run Social Ecology with the help of volunteers, collecting curtains and giving them new homes, in the houses of those who need them most.

Social Ecology

Social Ecology is a not-for-profit social enterprise established for the purpose of kaitiakitanga and social justice.  Social Ecology co-ordinates projects involving renewable energy, healthy housing, energy efficiency, community care and environmental concern

Tauranga Budget Advice Service

They provide a great service, a neat bunch of people, helping others, and like many who are focused on others, they were working out of a cold, un-insulated, building.  So we had great pleasure in helping out.  This winter should be a bit warmer!

We  have recently completed a neat project with EECA.  The project showed that if you take the time to visit people at home, chat with them and present them  with independent, well informed advice, about energy efficiency people will take action and make things happen

Free Home consultations

Since we started our commitment to providing free home sustainability advice, we have visited the grand total of 678 homes, telling people as much as we can about: energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste minimisation, water conservation and ecological solutions.

Community Energy Network

Sustainability Options are proud members of the Community Energy Network (CEN), an incorporated society made up of community enterprises from throughout NZ.  The vision of CEN is for every New Zealander to live in a home that keeps them warm and well, is affordable and that minimises environmental impact

We are currently working on a project in Tauranga, where we help deliver electric oil filled radiators in to cold, vulnerable homes, where there are respiratory concerns and unflued gas heaters are relied upon
